Without a doctor's order, massage is subject to sales tax. To be exempt from sales tax, please bring a written order or prescription from your doctor or chiropractor for massage. It should NOT have a set number of visits. It can say something as simple as, "I recommend that this patient receive massage for stress reduction, as needed".
Therapeutic Massage - Therapeutic Massage helps to improve range of motion and heal injuries. Multiple techniques are used to relieve severe tension in the muscles and connective tissue. Including but not limited to:
Myofascial Release (MFR)– Myofascial Release is a form of bodywork that uses long, stretching strokes to rebalance the body. By releasing and unwinding the fascia that surrounds each muscle and interconnects all of the other internal parts of the body, relaxing contracted muscles, increasing circulation and lymphatic drainage, and stimulating the stretch reflex of muscles and overlying connective tissue, MFR can relieve pain and tension caused by injury or stress.
Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)– Injury, trauma, postural distortion or stress cause nerves to speed up their transmission, inhibiting equilibrium and making the body vulnerable to pain and dysfunction. This technique involves the use of static pressure on specific points to relieve pain. With NMT, the muscles, tendons and connective tissue are manipulated, helping to balance the central nervous system and maintain normal function and overall health.
Active Isolated Stretching – The Mattes AIS Technique is an effective treatment for deep and superficial fascial release, restoring proper fascial planes for optimal physiologic function. Performing an Active Isolated Stretch of no longer than 2.0 seconds allows the target muscle to optimally lengthen without triggering the protective stretch reflex and subsequent reciprocal antagonistic muscle contraction as the isolated muscle achieves a state of relaxation. These stretches provide maximum benefit and can be accomplished without opposing tension or resulting trauma.
Active Isolated Stretching is beneficial for reducing pain, stiffness, chronic musculoskeletal conditions, and limited range of motion.
Jin-shin Jyutsu® - Jin Shin Jyutsu® is an ancient art of harmonizing the life energy in the body. Our bodies contain several energy pathways that feed life into all of our cells. When one or more of these paths become blocked, this damming effect may lead to discomfort or even pain. This blockage or stagnation will not only disrupt the local area but will continue and eventually disharmonize the complete path or paths of the energy flow.
Through Jin Shin Jyutsu® our awareness is awakened to the simple fact that we are endowed with the ability to harmonize and balance ourselves (in rhythm with the universe) physically, mentally and spiritually.
Sports massage– Exercise can leave your muscles feeling fatigued, stiff and sore. Massage therapy stretches and lengthens shortened muscles and reduces spasm. Its gentle kneading improves circulation which speeds up the removal of waste products that can make you sore, and brings in the oxygen and nutrients your muscles need to rejuvenate.
